Do you have a personal relationship with Jesus?

Ecclesiastes 3:11 Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart. (Eccl. 3:11 NLT)

Genesis 1:26 Then God said, "Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us.

God created us in His image and to be like him. This is how we should live our lives.

When sin entered the world, it ruined us, made us arrogant, and destroyed our God-identity.  God never made us to live life this way.  God so desperately loved us that He sent Jesus as ‘God the Son’ into the world to save us from our mess and dysfunction.

Jesus revealed the heart of Father-God beautifully and powerfully in His life ministry by forgiving our sins, making the way for the sick to be healed, and demonic spirits to be cast out.

Jesus loved us so much that He chose to be crucified on the cruel cross to pay the price for our sin (the penalty for any sin is ‘death’ and Jesus died our death). He chose to become flawed, bruised and battered beyond recognition for us, and to die for us. He was buried but then rose from the dead 3 days later, and now offers us the ability to live with him forever.

Jesus went through this horrific beating and crucifixion to pay the death penalty for sin, and to remove the eternal consequence of our sin, which is separation from God. He did this to overturn the effect of sin that destroys the image of God in us. We have the ability in Jesus to restore that God-image with which we were originally created. Jesus becomes our Lord and Saviour and is the only pathway bringing us to Father-God and God-the Spirit.

This is very intimate and powerful; that is why we don’t ever have to doubt that he loves us, no matter what anyone says or what happens in our life. God loves us, He loves you, and He paid the ultimate price for you. This is why Jesus is able to say that he is the way, the truth, and the life and that no one comes to Father-God except through the pathway he made.

There is a parallel to everything Jesus did on the cross:

  • He died, paying our death penalty so that we can live.

  • He was beaten so we can be unbeatable.

  • He was bound and nailed to the cross so we can be free.

  • Jesus died so that we can be free.

So how do you become free in Jesus?

You simply make a decision to believe that Jesus is who He says He is, and decide to follow Jesus’ way and to turn away from your sin. Then you choose to live the new life that Jesus died to give you and to follow Him into life and joy and peace.

If you want to make this decision, say this prayer and mean it from your heart:

Dear Jesus, I’m praying this prayer because I know that I have done wrong by living without you. I am sorry for living life my own way; please forgive me for my sins. I accept your love and grace for me and ask that you will be my Lord and Saviour.  Help me believe in you and love you every day.  Help me to show the world what you are like and how great your love is. Please send me the right people to help me in my journey with you.

In Jesus Name, Amen.

If you prayed this prayer we would love to hear from you and send you a bible and a small gift. We want to be able to connect you in with our team so that they can  encourage you in the decision which you have just made.
